Every wrong must be made right
“If it's money, you give it back.”

Try this week
Review whom you have harmed or owe, then resolve each matter immediately.
If the person is alive, contact them, seek pardon, and return any money or other right.
For someone unreachable or deceased, repent and give charity on their behalf in the amount owed.
For backbiting or slander, repent, speak positively about the person, pray for them, and increase good deeds.
Maintain Quran, prayer, istighfar, and sadaqah while preparing to settle unresolved obligations.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“if it's money you give it back if you felt like you over spoke about their honor you back bitten them you lie about them then seek their pardon”
“Islam is a practical religion seek the pardon today prepare yourself today”
“the real measure of piety is what you do between you and Allah but what you do between you and the creation”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
This khutbah reminds us that Allah will hold us accountable for how we treat other people. Worship is not complete if we harm others, keep their money, damage their reputation, or mistreat animals. We should repent to Allah and repair people's rights while we still can. If someone cannot be found, we should give charity on their behalf and continue doing good. True piety appears in our dealings with family, neighbors, coworkers, and everyone around us.
- What is one kind action we can take this week to repair or strengthen a relationship?
- Why do you think returning someone's right is part of being truly religious?
- How can we show responsibility when we cannot find someone we owe?
