For the dinner table

Shaykh Ahmad Kutty reminds us to thank Allah for life, time, faith, family, health, and another Ramadan. He describes Ramadan as a chance to renew our hearts and rebuild ourselves through more than hunger and changed routines. Fasting teaches taqwa, awareness of Allah, by helping us guard our words, restrain harmful desires, and act sincerely even when nobody else is watching. It also trains us to be patient in worship, in staying away from sin, and through difficult times. As a family, we can use this month to grow better habits, make time for prayer, and remember loved ones who have passed away in our duas.

  1. What good choice could you make quietly, knowing that Allah sees it?
  2. Who could we remember in our duas tonight, and what would you like to ask Allah for them?
