For the dinner table

Shaykh Zaid reminded us that Allah values us more than we may value ourselves. Comparing ourselves with other people's looks, possessions, grades, or social media can make us overlook the blessings Allah has given us. Feeling left out or experiencing a setback does not mean we are worth less, and one failure does not define our whole life. He encouraged us to notice our own gifts and question whether our harsh judgments about ourselves are really fair. We can work to improve while being grateful for what we have and happy for the good Allah gives others.

  1. What is one blessing Allah has given you that you sometimes overlook?
  2. What would you say to a friend who thinks one mistake makes them a failure?
  3. How could you celebrate someone else's success this week?
