Trust Allah and take the means
“You have to take an action.”
In one sentence
Muslims should trust Allah’s promised help while taking every available means, reforming themselves, supporting oppressed believers, making sincere dua, and refusing despair.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“You have to take an action. You have to do something. Do not be like the Darawish and sit and lay your back and say, Allah would give us victory.”
“When we have that mentality. When Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam says, That the sympathy and the mercy and supporting one another, caring for one another between the Muslims is like the one body.”
“The dua is the least minimum that every single one of us could do.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah reminded us to trust Allah even when we cannot see how a difficult situation will turn out. Through the stories of Musa and Maryam, the khateeb explained that trust goes together with taking whatever action we can. He urged us to care about Muslims who are suffering far away as we would care about our own family. He also asked us to look at our own habits and how we respond to Allah’s guidance. He encouraged sincere dua, boycott as a practical response, and holding on to hope in Allah.
- What small helpful action could you take this week, remembering the lesson of Musa’s stick?
- Who could we remember in our family dua tonight, and what could we ask Allah to give them?
- What would treating someone else’s hurt like our own look like at school or at home?
