For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Muslims should care about one another’s suffering, wherever it happens. The speaker focused especially on children in Pakistan who lack access to school, and on orphans who need steady support. He said education gives people knowledge, wisdom, dignity, and a path to independence rather than lifelong dependence on donations. He also reminded us that strong faith means putting temporary worldly life in perspective and preparing for the lasting life of the hereafter. As a family, we can ask how we will learn, help children, care for orphans, and support useful work in our community.

  1. What is one way education can help a person become more independent?
  2. How can our family show care for people who are suffering far away?
  3. What does it mean to live with the hereafter in mind while still doing good in this world?
