For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah invited us to flee to Allah by moving away from what displeases Him and toward what He loves. The khateeb described this as moving from ignorance to knowledge, from sin to obedience, and from forgetfulness to remembering Allah. He reminded us to worship Allah alone and to live with both fear of displeasing Him and hope for His mercy. Trusting Allah means making an effort while leaving the outcome to Him. We can put these reminders into practice by setting aside daily time for the Quran, remembering Allah throughout the day, and asking for His forgiveness, knowing that He loves those who repent.

  2. When could we make a little time for the Quran each day as a family?
  3. When something does not go as planned, how can we practice trusting Allah after doing our best?
