Allah can shape hardship into purpose
“Whatever generosity you open up towards Allah, you will find Him being even more appreciative and generous with you than you can ever be with Him.”
Suhaib's life shows that Allah can weave hardship, wealth, and sacrifice into a purposeful path, so believers should trust His plan, build families, give generously, and respond to ease with gratitude and hardship with patience.

In the khateeb's words
“Allah wants you for you. Everyone else wants you for them, not for your own good.”
“Whatever generosity you open up towards Allah, you will find Him being even more appreciative and generous with you than you can ever be with Him.”
“the very best of you are those who feed others.”
For the dinner table
Suhaib, known as Ar-Rumi, was born of Arab ancestry, taken captive as a child, became wealthy, and then embraced Islam. His story shows that Allah can use every part of a person’s life to prepare them for good, even when the path first looks painful or confusing. The khutbah encourages us to build strong families, resist values that sell us short, give generously, feed others, and greet people warmly. When life brings ease, we should be grateful; when it brings hardship, we should be patient and keep trusting Allah.
- What is one kind act or gift you could offer someone this week?
- When something difficult happens, what could patience and trust in Allah look like for you?
- What family responsibility would you like to grow into?
