How Shaytan attacks the believer

“The solution is to stick to the Sunnah, stick to the evidences, stick to the way of the salaf, and you have closed this door for the Shaytan.”

The khateeb, at 21:36

In one sentence

Shaytan attacks believers through doubt, worldly attachment, religious confusion, and beautified sin, so Muslims must build certainty through knowledge, detach from dunya, follow the Sunnah, and resist temptation.

The khateeb described Shaytan as an enemy who tries to reach believers from four directions. Doubts about the Hereafter can weaken certainty, so Muslims should pursue beneficial knowledge and strengthen yaqeen. Love of worldly wealth and status can distract from the next life, while religious confusion calls for holding to the Sunnah and sound evidence. The sermon also warned that sins may be made attractive by giving them nicer names, so we should pause and examine what we are being invited toward. The goal is to stay firm in faith, prayer, and obedience to Allah.
