For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that the human heart is made to seek truth and can be filled with the light of knowing God. Revelation gives our lives both purpose, to know and worship Allah, and significance, because it is the greatest gift we can receive. Our intentions matter: the same school, work, or daily activity can bring very different benefit depending on what we intend. We are encouraged to seek knowledge of the Prophet’s life and Islamic beliefs, connect our routines to the Qur’an, and say Bismillah before and Alhamdulillah after our actions. This week, let’s make a big intention to know, worship, and love God, and ask Allah to help that intention become real.

  1. What is one ordinary activity you could do with a bigger intention?
  2. What question about life or faith would you like to explore together?
  3. How can we bring more Qur'anic light into our family routines this week?
