For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah used the story of Khabbab’s suffering to remind us to hold on to faith and look beyond the difficulty of the moment. The khateeb explained that we can feel pain without letting it defeat us, and that mercy can include helping us see a way forward. He warned that comfort and constant complaining can distract us from our duties to Allah and to others. He encouraged us to turn concern into action by attending our masajid, improving our schools, serving our communities, and helping people facing oppression. As a family, we can begin with one useful action and keep building habits of worship and care for others.
