For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah focused on the Prophet’s advice to a young companion: be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. The khateeb explained that mindfulness means keeping Allah’s commands and respecting His limits in our prayers, speech, gaze, and dealings. He especially encouraged young people to hold onto their faith when temptations are strong. Allah’s protection includes our worldly lives, but the khateeb emphasized the protection of our faith, hearts, and minds most of all. He reminded us to ask Allah for help, recognize our blessings with gratitude, and support our brothers and sisters in Palestine through du‘a, charity, advocacy, and mindfulness of Allah in our own lives.
