Repentance & taqwaFrom the masjid's own video, Oct 24, 2025.

Sincere repentance defeats sinful pride

“Just go back to Allah, then back to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.”

The khateeb, at 22:11

In one sentence

Shaytan can beautify sin and arrogance can make people reject Allah’s commands, so believers should seek sincere repentance and humble obedience like Adam rather than Iblis.

For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that we can sometimes make wrong choices seem right by giving them attractive names or making excuses. The khateeb encouraged us to seek real faith and worship Allah as He wants, rather than letting our desires decide everything. He also reminded us that human beings are weak and can turn directly to Allah for forgiveness when they sin. He contrasted Adam's return to Allah with Iblis's pride and refusal to obey. As a family, we can practice admitting mistakes, accepting correction with humility, and helping one another return to Allah with hope.
