Use your time for worship, not wealth

“We spend time to earn gold and silver.”

The khateeb, at 2:50

In one sentence

Time is Allah's most valuable blessing, so believers should spend it in faith, good deeds, truth, patience, and consistent worship rather than merely celebrating the passing of years.

The khutbah in 4 steps

  1. Time is more valuable than material wealth, making it illogical to spend life pursuing lesser things.
  2. Ramadan should be welcomed as a blessed guest and celebrated for the worship and forgiveness it enables, not merely for arriving.
  3. Listeners are warned against becoming only Ramadan Muslims or Jumu'ah Muslims.
  4. The sermon recommends fasting, Quran recitation, charity, qiyam, and either home prayer or mosque taraweeh with the imam.
