For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that Surah Qaf describes two paths: traits that lead people toward Hellfire and qualities that lead to Jannah. It urged us to practice taqwa by leaving sin, returning to Allah through repentance, guarding His commands, remembering that He sees us when we are alone, and keeping a pure heart. Jannah was described as a place of peace, permanence, fulfilled desires, and blessings beyond what we can imagine. The message is hopeful as well as cautionary: our choices matter, and we can keep turning back to Allah.

  1. What is one small choice this week that could help us practice taqwa?
  2. When do you find it easiest or hardest to remember that Allah is watching over you?
  3. Which promised blessing of Jannah gave you the most hope, and why?
