For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that life changes as we grow, and we experience both happiness and hardship. The khateeb encouraged us to submit sincerely to Allah and trust Him through those changes. He explained that hardship does not mean Allah does not love us, and he pointed to the prophets, including Prophet Muhammad, as examples of people who faced great tests. He compared iman, or faith, to a deep ocean and described sincere submission as the way to grow toward it. He also encouraged us to choose friends who help us stay close to Allah and protect the progress we make in our faith.

  1. What change in your life has given you a chance to practice trusting Allah?
  2. How could we help someone who is going through a difficult time?
  3. What is one thing friends can do together to help each other grow in faith?
