For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that our purpose is to worship Allah, including as we go through family life, school, and work. He urged us to obey Allah and His Messenger and to admit our mistakes instead of making excuses for them. Through the Sabbath story, he warned against trying to get around Allah's commands and described people who kept reminding others to do what was right. He also emphasized that Allah forgives those who repent, and gave examples of people responding to guidance by asking forgiveness and making changes. As a family, we can encourage one another to be honest about our mistakes, seek Allah's forgiveness, and keep trying to obey Him.
