Taqwa turns Quranic guidance into action

“Never look down on any deed, no matter how small, because that little deed can be the reason why you enter Jannah to the Firdous.”

The khateeb, at 20:33

In one sentence

True Quranic guidance is realized through taqwa, belief in the unseen, timely prayer, generosity, faith in revelation, and certainty in the Hereafter, expressed through everyday actions, even small ones.

  3. Connects taqwa to private accountability, promise-keeping, gratitude, charity, and living by the Quran.
  4. Uses the Bukhari-Muslim hadith about understanding religion to argue that taqwa opens the Quran's guidance.
  5. Encourages salawat upon the Prophet and supplicates for guidance, forgiveness, and oppressed believers.

For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that the Quran becomes real guidance when we practice taqwa, or awareness of Allah, in daily life. The speaker highlighted five qualities: believing in the unseen, praying on time, giving from what Allah provides, trusting His revelation, and being certain about the Hereafter. He encouraged us to keep promises, remember that Allah sees us even when people do not, and never dismiss a small act of kindness or charity. He also urged steady Quran learning in baby steps, explaining that living by even a few verses can make someone part of Ahlul Quran. The family takeaway is to choose one small Quran-shaped action this week and keep it faithfully.

  1. Which of the five qualities would you most like to strengthen this week, and why?
  2. What promise is easier to keep when we pause before making it?
  3. What small Quran or kindness habit could our family practice together?
