For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that Allah looks at the sincerity behind our actions, not only how good those actions appear. We should regularly ask ourselves why we are praying, helping, learning, or changing a habit. Sincere repentance may require leaving harmful surroundings, people, jobs, or habits. We should not show off good deeds, but we also should not abandon them merely because others might notice. The family can help one another remember Allah, act on what we know, and ask Allah to purify our intentions.
