For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that preparing for Ramadan includes preparing our hearts by letting go of jealousy and forgiving others for Allah’s sake. He shared the story of a companion who forgave people before going to bed and did not envy the blessings Allah gave others. Our worship should help us become kinder, speak sincerely, and work to resolve disagreements. He also taught moderation, reminding us to care for our bodies and families and keep worship part of life beyond Ramadan. As Ramadan approaches, we can thank Allah for another opportunity and make a practical plan for repentance, prayer, Quran, charity, and using our time well.

  1. What could help you let go of a grudge before bedtime?
  2. When you feel jealous of someone, what could help you be happy for them?
