For the dinner table

Today's khutbah taught that repentance is not only for people who have committed extreme wrongs; it is a daily way of returning to Allah. We learn what is right from the Qur'an and the Sunnah, recognize our wrongdoing, stop it, ask Allah's forgiveness, and sincerely intend not to return. When we hurt another person, repentance also means making amends and asking that person's forgiveness. We should not delay repentance or give up hope, because Allah's mercy remains open to the person who truly turns back. A community can help by seeking knowledge, remembering Allah, accepting good correction, and encouraging one another toward what is right.
