The khutbah says the universe is too ordered and magnificent to be pointless; it points us to Allah, the One Creator. We are given minds not only to make inventions or enjoy comfort, but to recognize Allah’s power, knowledge, and wisdom. When we truly remember that Allah knows everything, including our intentions, and will hold us accountable, that knowledge should make us more obedient. Ramadan is a chance to grow taqwa, watching what Allah asks of us, and to follow His path for happiness in this life and the next.
