For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to care for what is inside our hearts, including jealousy, as well as what we say and do. The first khateeb warned that sins have consequences and emphasized the hope of tawbah: turning back to Allah with sincere repentance. The second khateeb encouraged us to prepare for Ramadan through small, steady habits of Quran reading, prayer, charity, and dua. He also reminded us to let go of grudges and seek forgiveness from people we have wronged. Together, these reminders invite us to show our love for Allah through worship and our love for others through kindness, patience, and service.

  1. When someone else gets something you wanted, what could help you celebrate with them?
  2. What small act of worship could we practice together before Ramadan?
  3. How could you show someone in our family love through an action tomorrow?
