Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah tells the story of Prophet Yunus, who faced an overwhelming trial after leaving his people too soon. In the darkness, he turned to Allah with a short supplication that expressed faith, praise, and humility. Allah rescued and healed him, and Yunus later returned to find that his people had accepted faith. The story reminds us not to give up on people or ourselves. Even difficult trials may carry wisdom, and Allah controls the final outcome.
- Which part of Yunus's supplication would you want to remember during a hard day?
- Why can saying “but” make an apology feel less sincere?
- When have you been tempted to give up too soon?
