The khateeb reminded us to strengthen our faith, do good deeds, and let go of things that weigh us down spiritually. Through the story of digging the trench around Medina, he showed how the Prophet listened to others, organized the work, and worked alongside his companions through hunger and exhaustion. The Prophet also lifted their spirits, reminding us that people need encouragement as well as practical help. The story of the meal at Jabir’s house highlighted trust in Allah and barakah, the blessing that can make a little enough for many. The khutbah encouraged us to keep working through hardship and hold on to hope, with meaningful goals for this life and the next.

  1. When has listening to someone else’s idea helped you solve a problem?
  2. What good thing could our family work toward together, starting with one small step?
