The khutbah taught that sports and exercise are permitted and can help us build healthy, strong bodies for worship, work, family life, and service to others. The khateeb reminded us that a balanced person cares for the mind with knowledge, the heart with love, and the body with healthy food and movement. Strength is not only physical; it also includes patience, self-control, trustworthiness, faith, and good manners. Sports should never lead us to miss salah, gamble, curse, fight, waste excessively, or forget our larger purpose in life. Whether we win or lose, we should remain humble, patient, merciful, and grateful to Allah for our bodies.
