For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that life is always changing, even when change feels uncomfortable. He explained “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah” as a reminder that our ability to change depends on Allah. Even our next breath and the good changes we made during Ramadan happen by His permission. Our work after Ramadan is to keep practicing the good we began and ask Allah to help us remain steady. He also encouraged us to make the supplication, “Oh changer of the hearts Make my heart firm upon your religion,” and keep turning to Allah through every change.
