Repentance & taqwaFrom the masjid's own video, Jun 26, 2026.

Resist shaytan before temptation grows

“Start doing the zikr of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.”

The khateeb, at 33:57

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that shaytan works through whispers, attractive excuses, gradual steps, and despair after we slip. He tries to pull us away from Allah through delayed prayer, distance from Quran, family conflict, division, fear about money, indecency, and treating him as a friend. We can resist by remembering Allah, seeking refuge, praying with attention, staying close to Quran, controlling anger, repenting quickly, and asking for sincerity. A mistake is not a reason to give up on Allah’s mercy; we should return to Him right away. At home, we can protect love and unity by speaking well and refusing to let small disagreements become lasting grudges.

  1. What is one excuse or distraction that can pull us away from prayer?
  2. How can we calm ourselves when anger starts during a family disagreement?
