Ramadan is a season for joyful worship

“Our goal is not to worship God but to enjoy the worship and there is a huge difference between the two.”

The khateeb, at 4:29

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Ramadan is a special season for enjoying worship and growing closer to Allah. He said our purpose is worship, and worship means giving ourselves to Allah, not only money, but also time, desires, and effort. We are trustees of what we have, so generosity should not feel like losing something we own. He encouraged us to fill each Ramadan day and night with fasting, prayer, Quran, remembrance, and charity instead of simply waiting for sunset. When we give sincerely, we trust Allah to return abundance and help us grow in faith.

  1. What is one way you can make a Ramadan day or night feel full?

  3. Which kind of giving, time, money, desire, or effort, would be hardest for you?
