For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that taqwa means remembering Allah in every situation, both privately and publicly. When we face hardship, Allah can give us a way forward and provide from places we do not expect. Tawakkul does not mean doing nothing; we make our best effort, seek treatment or work, and then trust Allah with the result. Even when pain remains, faith can free the heart from despair. We should believe that Allah’s wisdom is greater than our limited understanding and that His decree ultimately contains good.

  1. What is one practical effort you can make while trusting Allah with the result?
  2. How can faith change the way someone experiences a difficult situation?
  3. What does it mean to believe that Allah’s plan is best?
