For the dinner table

Life changes: we may move through health and sickness, ease and hardship. The khutbah teaches that believers keep hope in Allah because He remains in control, even when a situation looks impossible. Ibrahim, Musa, Yaqub, and Muhammad modeled trust, courage, and turning to Allah with their pain. We can bring our worries to Allah in dua without blaming Allah, and avoid assuming we know what the future will bring. This week, our family can practice hopeful speech, make dua, and seek comfort in these prophetic examples.

  1. What does hope in Allah look like when something goes wrong?
  2. What is one worry you could share with Allah in dua this week?
  3. Why did Musa stay hopeful when the sea was in front of him?
