- Frames aging and recognizing spiritual waywardness as reasons to return home to Allah.
- Closes with Surah an-Nasr, repeated repentance, supplications, and communal prayer.
Try this week
Use everyday pauses, including Jumu’ah and work breaks, to turn your heart toward Allah.
Repeat sincere phrases such as “astaghfirullah” and “astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh.”
Turn directly to Allah rather than relying on a saint, peer, or sheikh to repent for you.
When you recognize spiritual drift, stop and ask Allah for help immediately.
Return to Allah after falling again, while treating repentance as a path away from sin.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“you couldn't turn to Him until He turned to you first”

Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Tawbah means turning our hearts back to Allah, and it is not limited to recovering from a major sin. The khateeb reminded us that even coming to Jumu’ah and pausing during a busy workday to remember Allah can be repentance. We do not need a special place or intermediary; we can call on Allah directly, and His mercy remains open when we sincerely ask forgiveness. If we fall again, we should return again, while remembering that mercy is not permission to keep sinning. A small moment of turning back can become the spark that changes our direction.
- When during your day do you most naturally remember Allah?
- What helps you return to Allah after making a mistake?
- What small change could become your repentance “spark” this week?
