Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Allah does not stop calling us His servants when we sin; He invites us to return to Him. We should never let shame become despair, because His mercy is greater than our mistakes when we sincerely seek forgiveness. The khutbah teaches that Qurbani is not only about the animal but about drawing closer to Allah by giving up arrogance, greed, ego, and selfishness. Regular prayer, including waking for Fajr, trains us to please Allah even when nobody is watching. This week, we can ask forgiveness, resist despair, and practice one act that weakens our ego.

  1. When have you found it difficult to ask Allah for forgiveness, and what helped you return?
  2. How can our family support one another in praying Fajr?
