Allah makes a way through hardship
“Allah will take care of it.”
The khutbah teaches that taqwa and steadfast prayer open a path through seemingly hopeless trials, as shown by the Prophet Muhammad’s hardships, Isra and Mi'raj, and the gift of five daily prayers.
The khutbah in 5 steps
- The khutbah opens with the Quranic promise that taqwa brings an exit and provision from unexpected sources.
- It recounts Khadija's financial and emotional support, Abu Talib's protection, the boycott, and the Prophet's losses and rejection.
- It follows the Prophet's visit to Ta'if and presents his refusal to give up despite humiliation and injury.
- It narrates Isra and Mi'raj as divine consolation, including purification, meeting the prophets, and choosing milk as fitrah.
- It concludes that the five daily prayers are spiritual refueling stops, followed by supplications and the closing reminder to remember Allah.
In the khateeb's words
“She supported him in every aspect of his life emotionally and financially”
“Did he give up? No. He continued seeking this ayah.”
“He is a regular person He is a human being like us Made of flesh, bones and skin Leave it to Allah. Allah will take care of it.”
For the dinner table
The khutbah teaches that taqwa, living with awareness of Allah, can open a way forward when life feels closed. It remembers how Khadija and Abu Talib supported the Prophet Muhammad through rejection, exile, grief, and danger, and how he kept turning to Allah. The story of Isra and Mi'raj is described as a series of honors and comforts, culminating in the gift of prayer. The five daily prayers are like stops that refuel us for life's journey. At home, we can practice this message by staying patient, asking Allah for help, and supporting people around us.
- When has someone’s support helped you keep going?
- What helps you return to Allah when life feels difficult?
- How can prayer refuel you during a busy day?
