For the dinner table

Today the khateeb reflected on Allah as the Creator of the heavens and the earth, whose command is “Be,” and it is. He reminded us that Allah needs no one, while all of us need Him. Allah has no need for a son, a wife, or a partner, and the khateeb emphasized that He neither gives birth nor was born. He urged us to describe Allah using what Allah has revealed about Himself, rather than treating our own guesses as truth. He also explained that some differences in where reciters pause come from different transmitted readings, and he ended by asking Allah for knowledge, understanding, and faith.
