For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah centered on taqwa, a reverent awareness of Allah that leads us to obey Him and avoid what displeases Him. The khateeb said taqwa protects us in trials and grows through fearing Allah, remembering that He always sees us, worshipping Him, restraining our desires, and practicing good manners. He stressed that faith is not merely a wish: our deeds, prayers, fasting, zakat, and treatment of people reveal what is in our hearts. Taqwa should therefore shape how we care for parents, relatives, neighbors, family, and children. He ended by asking the community to pray for Gaza, remember Rohingya Muslims, and help people facing hardship.
