For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that we are responsible for how we respond when people upset us. The khateeb taught that remembering Allah and turning to Him in dua bring peace to our hearts. He described the Prophet's patience with people who treated him badly and shared examples of other prophets calling upon Allah during hardship. He also reminded us that words from people we love can hurt deeply, so our own words and our family relationships deserve care. This week, we can practice pausing before reacting, asking Allah for help, and choosing patience and forgiveness.

  1. What could you say in a short dua when you feel upset?
  2. When someone hurts your feelings, what helps you pause before speaking?
