For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that reaching Ramadan is a blessing and encouraged us to think about how we spend our nights. We may feel impatient with long prayers while easily spending hours on other things, but he reminded us that the reward of prayer outlasts its discomfort. He spoke about blessings such as warmth, lights, phones, and clothing, and told us about a boy who felt shy because his clothes were torn. He encouraged us to share what Allah has given us, remembering that clothes we no longer need could help someone celebrate Eid. Ramadan is a time for fasting, prayer, forgiveness, and generosity, and he also prayed for those who were sick and those who had died.

  1. What could we spend less time on tonight to make more room for prayer?
  2. Which clothes that you no longer need could bring someone else joy at Eid?
