Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that even small actions matter before Allah, so we should seek forgiveness and avoid dismissing wrongs. The story of Abu Hanifa’s parents showed that children learn Islam from the atmosphere and example of their home. The story of Shaykh Yasir al-Dawsari encouraged young people not to let ridicule define them. Instead, they should take small, steady steps in Quran, prayer, dhikr, study, or another sincere act of worship. Parents and children were encouraged to trust Allah, keep working, and support Muslims facing hardship.

  1. What is one small good deed you could keep doing this week?
  2. How can our family make home feel more connected to Islam?
  3. What should we do when someone’s words hurt or discourage us?
