Allah calls us to respond now

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah calls us to what gives our hearts life, and our response should reach beyond coming to Friday prayer. He encouraged us to notice our distractions, ask Allah for forgiveness, and make time for our obligations instead of putting them off. He urged us to protect our prayers even when we struggle with sins and to reconnect with the Quran now, without waiting for Ramadan. He also encouraged private good deeds done sincerely for Allah. When someone needs our help and we have the ability to give it, we can see that opportunity as an honor from Allah and respond with care.

  1. What could help you pause a distraction when it is time to pray?
  2. What could we do together this week to listen more carefully to the Quran?
  3. How could we help someone this week without looking for praise?
