Repent and remember Allah in every test

“No matter how far we have gone, redemption is possible.”

The khateeb, at 25:15

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that forgetting Allah is part of being human, but Allah continually gives us reminders and welcomes us back. Like Adam, we should recognize our mistakes and repent as soon as we become aware of them. Allah’s mercy surrounds us from before birth, and everything we have, including our abilities and successes, is a gift from Him. Hardship can test our patience, while ease and success can test our humility. Islam gives us hope: Allah’s door of forgiveness remains open, so we should return to Him often and help one another do the same.

  2. When have you felt grateful for something you could not create or achieve by yourself?
  3. What can you do after making a mistake to return to Allah with hope?
