For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that Jumu’ah is meant to move us toward action. The speaker names six sins that can become normal: lying for laughs, mocking religion, foul speech, immodest clothing, sharing sins online, and disrespecting parents. We should examine ourselves honestly, but never believe it is too late to return to Allah. Personal repentance, good character, and honoring our parents are part of improving our families and our ummah. When we stand against injustice, we should do so together with sincere faith and righteous conduct.

  1. How can we show our parents extra respect and care today?
  2. What does it mean to respond to injustice with both courage and piety?
