For the dinner table

Today the khateeb reminded us that Allah says, 'Remember Me and I will remember you,' so we should turn to Him in good times and hard times, saying alhamdulillah in both. When we are thankful, Allah gives us even more. He told the story of Prophet Yusuf, who reminded Zulaikha that even when no one else is looking, Allah always sees us. He said that even a deed as tiny as an atom, good or bad, will be counted, so we should hold on to our guidance and never let it slip away. He also taught that real honor comes from taqwa, which means wanting for others what we want for ourselves. Most of all, no matter what mistakes we make, we should never give up on Allah's mercy, because when we sincerely say sorry to Him, He forgives.

  1. What is one good thing and one hard thing from today that we can say alhamdulillah for?
  2. Prophet Yusuf knew Allah sees us even when we are alone. What is one good thing you could do this week that nobody else would see?
  3. What is something you love having that you could also help a friend or sibling have?
