Repentance & taqwaFrom the masjid's own video, Jul 11, 2026.
Seek forgiveness before sins darken faith
“You look at something you shouldn't be looking at, a woman or whatever, you don't lower your gaze.”
In one sentence
Faith is a light from Allah that sins darken, so believers must constantly seek forgiveness and cling to the sources of divine light.
The khutbah in 7 steps
- Faith is light from Allah, while sins create darkness that veils the heart.
- Seek forgiveness immediately for every sin, small or major, because Allah is ever-forgiving and merciful.
- Make istighfar a daily habit, after each salah, at sahar, and in abundance.
- Allah promises forgiveness and worldly blessings to those who constantly ask for forgiveness.
- Guard your company: bad companions darken the heart, while righteous companions bring light.
- Attend Fajr and Isha in congregation and recite the Quran to receive and preserve the light.
- Do not despair of Allah's mercy; follow sins with good deeds and keep pursuing the sources of nur.
