For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Hajj is about answering Allah’s call and submitting to Him, even when it is difficult. The khateeb described pilgrims standing before Allah without the distinctions of status or background that often divide people. He shared Ibrahim’s example of standing up for the truth and speaking gently to his father. He also invited us to look inside ourselves and consider where we turn first when problems arise. As a family, we can carry these lessons into our week by treating people equally, speaking with courage and kindness, and remembering Allah as we take practical steps through difficulties.

  1. How could you speak kindly when you need to stand up for what is right?
  2. When something goes wrong, what helps you remember Allah and decide what to do next?
