The khateeb reminded us to ask Allah to increase our knowledge and to keep learning throughout our lives. He explained that religious learning can bring us closer to Allah, while learning about the world can help us serve His creation. He emphasized that learning is a duty for both males and females, and that we should pass on the basics of faith, worship, and good character to our children. He also reminded us that beneficial knowledge can continue helping people after we are gone. His closing story about a student correcting his pronunciation showed that learning should make us more humble, understanding, and thoughtful in how we treat others.
