For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah is merciful and compassionate, and that Ramadan is a special season for receiving that mercy. He showed this through the Prophet's gentleness with a mistaken Bedouin, his affection for children, and stories of mercy toward a thirsty dog and a fearful sinner. No one should despair of Allah's forgiveness, even after many sins, but we should keep trying through worship and repentance. Because those who show mercy are shown mercy, we should treat people and all of Allah's creation with compassion. We can live this message by using the rest of Ramadan well and helping feed fasting Rohingya refugees.
