The khateeb reminded us that Allah created human beings with care and honored us with responsibilities. Through the story of Adam, he explained that carrying those responsibilities includes facing tests and temptations. He warned that Shaytan can make wrong choices sound helpful or reasonable. When Adam made a mistake, he felt sorry and sought forgiveness, while Shaytan remained arrogant. Allah’s mercy is a hopeful part of this story: He taught Adam words for asking forgiveness, and the khateeb encouraged us to learn that du’a and understand its meaning.

  1. What is one responsibility Allah has given us that we can take care of tomorrow?
  2. When a wrong choice sounds tempting, what could help you pause and think?
  3. What could our family do to make it easier for someone to admit a mistake and put things right?
