Patience & trialsFrom the masjid's own video, Jul 18, 2026.
Fill your finite time with good
“The son of Adam causes me harm whenever he curses time.”
In one sentence
Time is finite and sacred, so rather than complaining about it we must fill it with good, and as the Ummah of the end of times we should face its trials calmly and hold firmly to the deen, for which Allah grants immense reward.
The khutbah in 7 steps
- Opening praise and the virtues of Jumu'ah (angels recording attendees, weekly forgiveness)
- The sanctity of time: Allah swears by time in the Quran
- Hadith qudsi in Bukhari: cursing time harms Allah; fill time with good and barakah expands it
- Time is finite: the final hour approaches and Akhir al-Zaman began with the Prophet's birth
- We are the Ummah of the end of times, not doom and gloom: reward of 50 companions for holding to the deen
- Worship in hard times (Gaza, internment camps) equals hijrah to the Prophet; pride in being the Ummah of Muhammad
- Second khutbah: two signs/themes from the Jibreel hadith, reality inverted, and Islam reduced to outward form; combat by truth and sincerity
Try this week
Come early to Jumu'ah, take ghusl, wear best clothes, and avoid harming others
Stop cursing or complaining about time; instead fill your time with good deeds so barakah expands it
Ask Allah for barakah in your time and rizq
Prepare for the final hour through deeds rather than fixating on when it will come
Hold firmly to the deen even when it feels strange or socially costly
Stick to the truth when reality around you is inverted
Combat superficial religiosity with sincerity (ikhlas), not concern for appearances
Seek forgiveness (istighfar) on the day of Jumu'ah
Sources the khateeb cited
Sahih al-BukhariNamed source; used to argue that complaining about time is bad adab with Allah and that time, being metaphysical, expands with barakah
Surah 103Recited at the start of the second khutbah as the Quranic framing on time
Surah 54Used to show the Quran constantly reminds that time is finite
Quran 33:56Closing command to send salawat on the Prophet
Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“time is metaphysical it's not physical and because of that barakah affects it”
“we stick to the truth no matter how corrupted people want to make it we stick to the truth”
