Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Barakah means more than having a lot; it is contentment, peace, and goodness in what Allah gives us. The khutbah teaches that taqwa begins with leaving sins and haram income, especially interest, and being truthful in business. We are encouraged to ask Allah for blessing, give charity, spend on others, and care for family ties. A blessed life also grows through a close relationship with the Quran, reading it, learning it, reflecting on it, and teaching it. At home, we can seek barakah by making our money halal, our worship sincere, and our relationships generous.

  1. Where do we already see contentment or barakah in our family life?
