For the dinner table

Today we learned that the Prophet Muhammad taught people in thoughtful, memorable ways. He asked questions, used comparisons and stories, showed ideas visually, repeated important advice, and taught in real situations. He also started with basics, used gentle humor, and adjusted his approach to the person and moment. We can use these methods with our children, spouses, friends, neighbors, and coworkers while keeping worship and good manners together. This week, we can choose one method, such as a question or short story, and use it kindly.

  1. Which teaching method would help you learn something new, and why?
  2. What is one small religious practice you could build gradually?
  3. How could you explain an important idea with a story, picture, or gentle joke?
